I have developed plenty of PHP coding, accessing MM through its powerful MMmacro and useful input formats (geo, ptp, loc, mme, xy etc) to produce customized MM maps. I am not aware of any GIS with so many input/output formats. PHP is the language of choice for its strong server orientation, menu customization, link to MySQL.
So far, this was powerful and efficient. But when I migrated to Win 7/64 (and Win 8), I had to introduce the latest PHP version (5.4) and have now a lot of problems to run my MMmacros. (Something to do with webserver security, not with MM).
Is there anyone out there, who has similar work experiences and problems?
Any contacts will be appreciated Gerhard

This is not really MM, but nevermind:
After many hours of testing, I managed to solve my problem of exec() calls in PHP, particularly to MMmacro to modify or display MM maps, customized.
1. xampp must be installed in real (!) administrator mode (in Windows 7 / 32 & 64 bit).
2. In many environments, Apache and MySQL should not run as services, but be manually started (even not with interaction with desktop).
I have put a step-by-step procedure to troubleshoot at:

(Ignore the references to our system LUPMIS).
Good luck to everybody Gerhard |
