I am using "Utilities ... Vector ... Import" to import an "Excel file with XY data" to create a .dra file.
The Excel file (in "Excel 97-2003 Workbook" format) contains columns called "Style", Number", "Easting" & "Northing" and using the obvious mappings "Column containing the object IS", "Column containing the X ordinate" etc. I can successfully import the data to generate a valid .dra file. At least, I can on my cobwebby old Windows XP machine. But if I try to import exactly the same file, using exactly the same settings, on my WIN7 machine, I get a .dra file which has correctly imported the object ID and the X & Y co-ordinates, but which has not imported the Style numbers, displaying all symbols using the "0" style.
This is not a one-off occurrence, but as Windows XP is now officially dead, I would really like to be able to import the file on my WIN7 machine, and not be dependent on my old XP box.
Can anyone Help? |
