Is it possible to link a .dra file directly to an Excel 2010 .xlsx file?
I can save the file as an Excel 2003 .xls compatible file but this brings up a pop up window behind the map which appears to lock my computer until I minimise the map. This gets very irritating.

Richard, I don't think you can link to .xlsx
When you save the excel file (from excel) as .xls a pop up window asks 'check compatibility when saving this workbook' - You need to un tick the box as this is what crashes MM. Once you have done this there shouldn't be any more problems.

Thanks Matthew - I'll try that.
It is a shame we can't link directly to current versions of Excel. Has development of MapMaker ceased? It should not be too difficult to create a link to xlsx files from within the programme.

Hello Richard,

I am sure the development of MapMaker has not stopped. Like the fabled ‘Stig’ from TopGear: "...rumour has it the developer never sleeps....". A while ago there was already talk of a new version on the forum so I am sure we will soon have this option as well in MM Pro!
