Hi,
I have a series of plots laid out on a map. I have exported the DRA to Excel and added more information to be represented on the map (heights of the trees in the plot, actually. However when I link the data in the Excel file and bring the information onto the map I get the information but it is all in boxes. Boxes which I can't get rid of, nor see the settings that created them. They obscure the map, and render it useless.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Cheers

Hi Mark,
Would you load your project and the project manager to start with? Then select the layer, get to the Style tab, get to the Labels tab, get to the Option tab and change the Label options from Data table to Data value, then select just two or three fields? Eventually get to the Visibility tab to adjust the Drop out scale? Happy new year!

Phillipe,
You are a wonder!
I just did as you said and bingo! The style came back and the labels are exactly as I want them. I didn't have to adjust the 'Drop out' value...
Obviously selecting 'Data Table' presents the data as a table on the map, and selecting data value just re-labels it...
Thank you.
Bon Courage!

Hi Mark
Try importing your Excel file into Access. Check all your data fields have enough space say 255 characters. After you have done this export your table as a dbf. Map Maker should then give you what you were expecting after you have made the link.
