On attempting to import Google Earth kml files (path or polygon) I get an access violation error message from MM4.

I give the error message in full.

Access violation at address 0000000000920C40 in 'Mapmaker4.exe'. Write of address 0000000000000000.

I can export to kml from MM4 and the files open in GE as an MM overlay.

Any suggestions folks?

This formum is run by me, an independent Map Maker user. Glitches are best reported directly to the developers.

Eric (mapmaker) did respond and notified of a fix to a similar problem flagged up in the 'MM4 beginning questions' thread. Nothing unusual in that - Eric routinely addresses problems raised on the forum, makes formal announcements and so on, is why I posted about this particular GE problem on the forum.

Currently there is no clear distinction bewteen yourself as forum owner and Mapmaker the software producer. The Mapmaker website has no formal guidance as to how to go about reporting bugs. To better help us (as users) and the developer(s), might I suggest we have a new forum area or thread specifically for reporting possible MM4 bugs/glitches?

I happen to like MM4 (and admire its ethos), only trying to help here.
