The Data Query tool can be used to query "hit-able" objects in a number of ways:
1 - by clicking on the object 2 - by click-and-drag to form a rectangular marquee around a number of objects 3 - by Ctrl-click and right-click to draw a line intersecting a number of objects 4 - by "C"-click and drag to draw a circle enclosing a number of objects 5 - by Ctrl-click, additional clicks, and right-click to create a Polygon enclosing a number of objects.
I can get each of these to work, with the default Query settings.
However, if I use "Tools > Query > Query Options" and select "Only select objects entirely within an area" (Manual 4.6), then there is a problem: of the above Query methods only 1 and 2 operate correctly, ignoring those objects not entirely contained within the marquee - but 3, 4 and 5 seem to ignore the "Query Option" setting, and return all objects touched by the marquee, not just those entirely within it.
How do I get the "Query Options" to work correctly? |
