Hi,
I have inherited a GIS map and associated databse, of many hundreds of polygons.
I've successfully imported the polygons into MM, and the database is linked with the .DRA file.
I have created a 'Style' column in the database, which I want to populate with the style numbers I've created, so that MM paints the polygons with the style numbers I've created.
I've read the Manual chapter 4, and tinkered with the 'Utilities', 'Vector utilities','Actions'. In there I've followed 'Set styles by data' choosing the link and the style column, but it doesn't work, for my existing data. Does it only work for new data or something?
Any help would be gratefully received.
Cheers

I assume that with your project loaded in MapMaker, you have chosen Project Manager/Layers, selected your polygon layer and then clicked the Data link tab and then clicked the Choose Database button, selected the database and selected your unique ID field to be your Link Column.
If you then click the Style tab then the Assign according to tab and Select the option "Database" you will then see all your database fields in the box below. All you have to do is chose the field in which you have put your style numbers then click OK.

Mark,
The first step might be to make sure that 1 object in the vector layer finds 1 record in the database and 1 record of the database finds 1 object in the vector layer. This can be checked as follows : 1) Edit - Load file into live layer with data 2) Edit - Live layer data - Show Object/Data linker
Otherwise the styles will not be reflected on the map.
Cheers
