I'm testing the new MM4, but I have some problems:
- How can I load a lot of base maps (about 500 file .tif) quickly? (In MM3.5 I use "Project based on directory of files" and it works very well)
- When I click the button "View in Goolge Earth" MM4 doesn't work at all and tell me: "Floating point division by zero", but just the same map works very well in MM3.5 and I can see it in Google Earth
My O.S. is Window7 and the projection: WGS84 UTM zone 32N EPSG32632 (Milano, Lombardia, Italy)
Any suggestions? Thanks. Silvano

Unlike in mm3.5 when you use the Add layer" file picker you can select multiple files so it is does away with the need for the separate "add directory of files" function.
We have found that there was an issue with the "View in Google Earth" function when used on computers in countries that use a comma for a decimal point, such as Italy. If you download the latest update you should find that this now works correctly. |

Thank you Map Maker. I solved the first question with an Excel macro that listed all my file names and then I copied the list in MMmacro: " command=add layer directory=C:\Carta Tecnica Regionale\ file 1=E3C3.tif . . file 710=F8D4.tif " and it work very fine, with only one name (the first), instead of 710 file names.
Second question: I reloaded both MM4 (21/02/2016) and Google Earth (5/20/2015; 7.1.5.1557), but I get again the message:" Floating point division by zero". The only difference I see in MM3.5 is the format of the coordinates, e.g.: 515012,9 m (instead of 515.013 m, in MM4) and 5034533,8 m (instead of 5.034.534 m, in MM4). If I change the projection and use the British National Grid, I see my map in Google Earth (in the middle of the ocean: latitude and longitude = 0, instead of the Northern Italy, of course)

If you export a DRA to KML does it display correctly for you in GoogleEarth? If not can you send me the KML file and the Dra file? |

Silvano,
Thanks for sending the files. The problem turned out to be with some EPSG codes when used to generate KML files. This has now been fixed and the updated program is now on the web site. |
