I wonder if anyone out there has experienced issues with the creation and saving of multiple buffers around point data and could perhaps offer a solution to the following:
I have 533 points (single trees) in the live layer and wish to create a 10 meter buffer around each one. I undertook the procedure in the usual way but was faced with the following messages during processing –
“Load source failed:C:\DOCUM~\owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\tempbuf1.dra”
Then after a few moments –
“Save source failed:C:\DOCUM~\owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\tempbuf1.dra”
And finally –
“Access violation at address 00402B82 in module MMM.exe”
The process did create and save some of the buffers but would not allow me to exit the live layer or to shut down Mapmaker.
I have downloaded the current Mapmaker updates, carried out a basic tidy of the data and split up the original dbf files into smaller datasets but the problem persists. The original data were uploaded from a Garmin GPS into ArcView, emailed to me as shapefiles and then imported into Mapmaker for conversion to a dra file. I am beginning to think that perhaps some of the data are corrupted or there is a problem with the ArcView conversion process.
Any thoughts?
Many thanks
Neil
