Hi,

I have been trying to link a MapMaker layer to an Access 2003 database. I have MapMaker Pro and Access Runtime installed, not a full version of Access. When I choose the database I get the error "Server Execution Failed" and no list of tables etc.

Is it possible to link to an Access database with only runtime installed and if so, has anyone been successful?

Hi,

I've created several Access Runtime databases. My understanding is when the Runtime conversion is made from the dBase, only the parts of the database that are used are left to function in Runtime. In other words all the rest of Access facilities are stripped out. So I guess that unless the Access database is made to link before the Runtime conversion is made, then you won't be able to link to the Runtime version.

Cheers

Mark
