noticed recently, that during the latest work on dra files I mixed two point layers. Now I'd like to delete those duplicate objects but have no succes with the 'remove any duplicate object' from the 'tidying' action list. I can run that command, but surprisingly I cannot save the result !
I have checked if the objects are realy duplicate with the help of a shape file viewer. If I click through the point symbols I notice, that few points have one entry in the 'ShapeIndex' but several others have two entries, what I understand as an hint on a duplicate object.
Is remove duplicate objects not the correct command ? Or is there a better way to get rid of those duplicates ?
You cannot save the result as all the points have been deleted. Tidying-Remove any duplicate objects works fine with lines (1) and polygons but does not work with points I'm afraid. Eric will probably fix this issue. Or,in the meantime,as a painful workaround, you could amend Id's then create attribute data (with X & Y's to identify duplicates), fix duplicates with MS EXCEL then load the DRA+DBF and delete unlinked objects?
(1) The remaining line has lost its id and label in my test.
