I'm attempting to calibrate a Bitmap using the multipoint method. I've marked the control points and added the World coordinates, Ohio State Plane in this case. Then I saved the control point file "*.clp". Now what? In the past when using a two point calibration, the bitmap automatically calibrated and loaded in the correct "world View". How do I apply the *.clp data to the bitmap so that it displays correctly?

I've searched the forum to no avail. I'm using MM Pro BTW.

Dale,

1) Load your bitmap file again (Utilities/Bitmap utilities/etc.) then load your *.clp file.
2) Once you are happy with your calibration, hit the OK button (bottom right of the window) to save a calibrated bitmap...
3)Select the calibration option (Map Maker calibration or "World"file).
Done!

Regards.

Phillippe, Thanks for your reply. I think I may be trying to do something that MM won't do. When I calibrate it as you've indicated, the Map is a much smaller scale than my plot data, although it lands right in the center.

I thought the multipoint calibration would size the map as well as orient it. I may have a scale issue though with my control points. I need to check to see if somewhere I've inadvertently mixed up feet with meters. I use Earth Point online to convert Utm-nad27 to State plane, but their results are in feet and my plot data is in meters. I may have only thought I made that conversion. Anyway, I think I'm on the right track now. There's always rubber sheeting if I need it.

Thanks again.

Dale

I finally got the map to shift to a couple of diagonally opposite corners matched, and to the right scale, but still not aligning quite well enough. I will try again then resort to rubber sheeting.
