The latest update deals with very small font sizes (see http://www.latitudecartography.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1965).
It also fixes a bug with labels in split circles where a single style is applied with a changed font size but the first label does not show the change correctly.
Thirdly, under Utilities - Vector utilities - Import file - DXF, step 2, there is now an option to automatically assigned sequential style numbers to different feature types. |

In the latest update under "Utilities - Vector utilities - Export file", the option has been added to export to GoogleEarth KML files. Note that the DRA file to be exported must contain lat/long coordinates. Also note that no style information is exported, just the geometry and the caption.
Also in the style set editor (i.e. "File - Project Manager - Components - project style set - Style edit", a new drop-down box has been added in the top right so that you can rapidly navigate down the style list to a style of a given number. This can be useful if you have a large complex style set. |

When creating a new object or editing an existing one you can now select its style by specifying its style number rather than just picking from the list of styles. This can be useful when dealing with a large style set. |

When saving an image to jpeg (e.g. when calibrating a jpeg image) the jpeg quality has now been set to maximum. Before it was set to 75% being a compromise between image size and quality but with modern disk and memory sizes being what they are it seems sensible to have slightly larger files and maximum quality. |

The latest update contains three minor changes:
1. Under "Navigate - Screen grid", the "Number grid" option was not working correctly, now fixed.
2. Under "Utilities - Vector utilities - Actions -> choose file -> Basic operations - seed points from polygons", the action has been modified so that if the polygons have rotated labels then the same rotation is applied to the label of the new seed point.
3. If the size of the label of a line is set to "metres on the ground" then its distance from the line was not consistent. This has now been fixed.

The ability to export basic GPX files has been added. Go to" Utilities - Latitude and Longitude utilities - XY file to WGS84 lat/long - vector", choose the file that you want to export and its projection, then when asked to name a new file choose GPX as the file type. |

A few low-level modifications have been made to make Map Maker compatible with the beta release of Windows 8.
The vector action "remove any duplicate objects" has been modified to work with point objects, not just lines and polygons. |

For UK users that use ProMap as a source of OS raster data, we've found that when ProMap exports a raster image it exports it as an extract of an OS tile and starts the new filename with the name of the original OS tile. This confused Map Maker regarding the calibration of the extract since it assumed the file was a full tile due to the name. The program has now been modified to cope with this situation. |
